Many types of grasses and plants wither in the summer heat. When cutting your grass in this heat ,leave it taller than in the spring. I cut mine at 3 to 4 inches tall so it can shade the roots. It also helps gather more dew in the morning to help moisten it. My lawn stayed a lot greener this year than before, When late fall and early spring come back around cut it shorter.
